Who this page is for

This page is for filmmakers, editors, directors and creatives working on their own who compete with larger outfits. Play Platform gives you the system a production company normally has to itself: a quote with a rate card, deliveries and approvals on the piece, a library of your own and real cost per project, with a free plan. And PLAY Talent is the network of more than 1,200 professionals to draw on when a job asks for more hands than you have.

What holds a freelancer back today

It is not the talent. It is that half the work is not billable: quoting, chasing feedback, delivering and ordering the material.

You quote by eye and sometimes lose money

With no record of what the last project cost, the price comes from a feeling. A project that ran two weeks over looks just as profitable as one that went perfectly, and the next quote inherits the mistake.

Budget, spend and hours inside the project, comparable across jobs.

Feedback arrives through five different channels

A WhatsApp voice note, an email with screenshots, a remark on the call. Gathering it and turning it into concrete changes takes longer than making them, and one always gets lost.

Videofeedback on the piece itself, ordered by version and timestamped.

Delivering looks amateur

A WeTransfer link that expires in seven days, an email subject with the version number and a folder called final_final_2. You are competing with production companies that deliver through their own system.

Review links of your own, with your project behind them and no surprise expiry.

The big jobs pass you by

When the project needs camera, sound and edit at once, or shooting in another city, you either say no or assemble a crew against the clock with people you do not know.

A network of more than 1,200 vetted professionals to complete the crew.

How Play works for a freelancer

Play is a Production-Tech company: software and a production team in the same house. Here what weighs most is the software, free, and the network when you need to grow for one particular job.

Way 1

Platform only

You run your projects in Play: brief, calendar, deliveries, approvals and cost. Free, with your clients inside at no charge.

  • Briefs, tasks and a production calendar
  • Media library with AI tagging
  • Videofeedback and approvals by version
  • Unlimited external collaborators

Free on the LITE plan

Way 2

Production only, as and when you need it

When a job asks for more hands, you draw on the network to complete the crew, or hand us the part you cannot cover.

  • End-to-end production with an Account Manager
  • Creative, shooting and post-production
  • Local talent in whichever market it takes
  • A fixed quote per project

Per project, on a transparent rate card

See PLAY /Services
Way 3

Everything together, one partner

You work as a collaborator inside PLAY projects, using the same system you already use for your own.

  • Everything in way 1 and way 2
  • Platform included at no cost with the services
  • Cost and status traceable in the same place
  • A flat production discount on the Enterprise plan

Platform included, production per project

Talk to the team

The three ways are doors into the same place, and you can move between them without migrating anything. Most teams start at way 1 or way 2 and end up at way 3 once the content volume grows.

What Play solves in a freelancer's week

Not formats, but the parts of a job that are not billable and take the time.

From first contact to delivery, inside Play.
MomentWhat usually happensHow it goes with Play
QuotingA figure based on how the last similar project felt.Line items with a rate card and the real cost of earlier jobs to hand.
StartingA half-finished brief in an email and three calls to clarify it.A structured brief with KAMI AI, with formats, markets and dates.
Showing progressA link that expires and feedback split between email and messages.A review link with comments on the piece, by version.
Closing changesCollecting contradictory opinions and deciding yourself which one wins. All the feedback in one thread, with who said it and on which second.
DeliveringA large transfer, a folder with an improvised name, and then waiting.Delivery from your library, tagged and findable months later.
Growing for a jobFinding a crew against the clock among scattered contacts.A talent call to a network of more than 1,200 vetted professionals.

What you get from each part

Play has modules built for large outfits. This is what someone working alone actually uses.

A free plan that does not expire

3 internal users, unlimited external collaborators and 250 GB. Enough to run all your jobs without paying anything.

Review links of your own

The client comments on the piece without creating an account. Delivering stops looking like an improvised transfer.

Media library

Rushes and masters AI-tagged and searchable. The project from eight months ago is still where you left it.

Budget and cost per job

From the PRO plan: what you quoted, what you spent and what was left. That is what stops the next price being a hunch.

KAMI AI

It turns the conversation with the client into a structured brief, so what was agreed is written down before starting.

Clients inside at no cost

Unlimited external collaborators on every plan, so having several clients in the workspace does not change the invoice.

Joining the network

PLAY Talent is more than 1,200 vetted professionals: filmmakers, creatives, producers, editors, directors and AI artists. Every profile goes through a selection process.

Receiving work

PLAY /Services projects are staffed from the network, across more than 20 countries.

Completing your own crew

You open a talent call when a job asks for more hands and receive vetted profiles instead of messaging ten contacts.

Working in other markets

Productions in more than 20 countries, with permits and logistics handled by an Account Manager.

Brief to publication in four steps

The flow is the same whether you produce or we do. The only thing that changes is who carries out step 3.

  1. You say what you need

You open the project and describe the need. KAMI AI helps turn it into a structured brief, with formats, markets and dates, so that everyone is working from the same thing.

  2. You settle scope, cost and who does it

This is where you pick a way: your team produces it, your agency does, or PLAY /Services does with local talent. If you commission it from us, you get a fixed quote on a transparent rate card before anything starts.

  3. It gets produced and approved inside the platform

Shoot, edit and versions in the same project. Approvals happen through videofeedback and public links, with no email chains. If PLAY produces, your Account Manager oversees every stage.

  4. It is delivered, and it stays

The finished piece and the raw footage stay in your library, tagged and ready to reuse on the next campaign.

What it costs

The platform is paid per workspace, not per person, so having all your clients inside changes nothing. If you also commission production from us, it is quoted per project.

If you produce with us, the platform costs you nothing

Access to Play Platform is included at no cost with every PLAY video production service. In other words: you can come in through the platform door and pay only for the software, or come in through the production door and take the software with it.

Annual billing works out at 10 months. Extra storage at 29 €/TB per month. For someone working alone, LITE covers the whole week and does not expire. The jump to PRO makes sense the day you want to know what each job left, because cost control and analytics are exactly what LITE leaves out. See the full plan comparison.

Frequently asked questions about Play for freelancers

Is Play free for a freelancer?

Yes. The LITE plan is free and does not expire: 3 internal users, unlimited external collaborators and 250 GB of media, with briefs, tasks, calendar, library and videofeedback. It asks for no card.

Do my clients have to create an account?

They do not need to. Review links let them comment on the piece without an account. And if you would rather bring them into the workspace, external collaborators are unlimited and take no licence.

How do I get into PLAY Talent?

PLAY Talent is a vetted network, not an open marketplace: every profile goes through a selection process. The Talent page has the route to apply.

Can I take on jobs bigger than I can handle?

That is exactly what the network is for. You open a talent call for what you are missing — camera, sound, edit or motion — and receive vetted profiles instead of improvising among contacts.

Does it work for running several clients at once?

Yes. Each client is its own set of projects, with its own library and budget, and links are shared per piece without giving access to the rest.

Can I tell whether a job was profitable?

From the PRO plan, yes: budget, charged spend and real cost per project. That is what lets the next job's price come from data rather than from how the last one felt.

Where do the rushes end up?

In your workspace library, tagged and searchable, with 250 GB already on the free plan and 1 TB on PRO. They stop living on scattered drives.

How do I start?

Open a free LITE workspace, put the job you have running into it and share the first review link with your client. It shows on the very first delivery.
