Team / Post-production

Play for post-production teams: fewer lost iterations

The edit is not the problem. The problem is a comment that does not say at which second, a file that will not turn up, and a version nobody is sure about.

LITE plan free forever, with 250 GB and unlimited external collaborators.

Updated: September 2026

Who this page is for

This page is for editors, colourists, sound engineers and motion artists, inside a post house or an in-house team. The time that gets lost is not on the timeline: it is in interpreting vague feedback, in hunting for material that should be to hand, and in redoing a version because nobody knew which one was approved. Play has two pieces that work separately or together: Play Platform, which goes after those three things; and PLAY /Services, as extra capacity when the suite is full. You can start free with the platform alone.

What loses iterations

Each of these costs a whole round of work.

The feedback does not say where

That the pacing at the start does not work, or that the colour looks odd. With no specific second, the editor guesses, delivers, and finds out that was not it.

Comments anchored to the exact second, on the specific version.

Four reviews arrive and they contradict each other

Client, creative and brand comment separately. Somebody has to decide which wins, and that somebody is usually whoever is editing.

Every review in the same thread, visible to each other, on the same piece.

The material is not where it should be

The vector logo is missing, or the approved music, or the rushes from the second day. Every hunt is half an hour and a message to three people.

All the project's material in one library, tagged and searchable.

Nobody knows which version was approved

Four almost identical exports circulate. Someone tweaks the wrong one and an afternoon's work is lost.

Ordered versions with the approved one identified and its history.

How Play works for post-production

Play is a Production-Tech company: software and a production team in the same house. What it brings here is order around the edit, not inside it.

Way 1

Platform only

You edit in your usual tools and use Play to receive clear feedback, keep the material to hand and control versions.

  • Briefs, tasks and a production calendar
  • Media library with AI tagging
  • Videofeedback and approvals by version
  • Unlimited external collaborators

Free on the LITE plan

See Play Platform
Way 2

Production only, as and when you need it

You commission the part that does not fit in the suite: edit, colour, sound or motion, as extra capacity.

  • End-to-end production with an Account Manager
  • Creative, shooting and post-production
  • Local talent in whichever market it takes
  • A fixed quote per project

Per project, on a transparent rate card

See PLAY /Services
Way 3

Everything together, one partner

The platform is your delivery system and our team joins inside it when the calendar bites.

  • Everything in way 1 and way 2
  • Platform included at no cost with the services
  • Cost and status traceable in the same place
  • A flat production discount on the Enterprise plan

Platform included, production per project

Talk to the team

The three ways are doors into the same place, and you can move between them without migrating anything. Most teams start at way 1 or way 2 and end up at way 3 once the content volume grows.

Where the time comes back

The situations that cost the most iterations, and what changes in each.

Common post-production situations and what changes with Play.
SituationWhat usually happensHow it ends up
First reviewAn email with ten notes and no time references.Ten comments anchored to the second, on the piece itself.
Cross-reviewsThree parallel threads with standards that contradict each other. One thread where everyone sees what the others have said.
Hunting for materialMessages to production asking for rushes or a logo.A project library, tagged and searchable by what it shows.
Version controlExports with improvised names across several folders.Ordered versions, with the approved one marked and its history.
DeliveryLarge transfers and emails with the link of the day.Delivery from the library, with links and no surprise expiries.
ArchiveDrives that fill up and projects nobody opens again.Material tagged and findable months later.

What you get from each part

What a post team actually uses.

Feedback anchored to the second

Every comment sits on the exact frame, with author and version. It is what stops the iteration lost to misreading a note.

Versions with the approved one marked

The full history of cuts, with the good version identified, so nobody tweaks the wrong one.

The project library

Rushes, graphics, music and logos in one place, AI-tagged and searchable without asking anyone.

Review links

The client comments without an account and without a transfer, through links that expire when they should.

Delivery queues

Which cut goes where and when, in a view that heads off the last-minute questions.

Unlimited external collaborators

The client, creative and freelancers join without taking a licence, on every plan including the free one.

Extra capacity in post

Edit, colour, sound, motion and visual effects when the suite is full and the deadline will not move.

Hybrid AI production

To scale variants of one piece: languages, durations and formats per channel, without remaking the edit.

Vetted talent

More than 1,200 vetted professionals, editors, colourists and motion artists among them.

A transparent rate card

A fixed quote per project, to decide whether outsourcing a particular part is worth it.

Brief to publication in four steps

The flow is the same whether you produce or we do. The only thing that changes is who carries out step 3.

  1. You say what you need

You open the project and describe the need. KAMI AI helps turn it into a structured brief, with formats, markets and dates, so that everyone is working from the same thing.

  2. You settle scope, cost and who does it

This is where you pick a way: your team produces it, your agency does, or PLAY /Services does with local talent. If you commission it from us, you get a fixed quote on a transparent rate card before anything starts.

  3. It gets produced and approved inside the platform

Shoot, edit and versions in the same project. Approvals happen through videofeedback and public links, with no email chains. If PLAY produces, your Account Manager oversees every stage.

  4. It is delivered, and it stays

The finished piece and the raw footage stay in your library, tagged and ready to reuse on the next campaign.

What it costs

If you produce with us, the platform costs you nothing

Access to Play Platform is included at no cost with every PLAY video production service. In other words: you can come in through the platform door and pay only for the software, or come in through the production door and take the software with it.

Annual billing works out at 10 months. Extra storage at 29 €/TB per month. In post it is the storage that decides: rushes and versions fill LITE's 250 GB in a couple of projects, so PRO's terabyte arrives early, expandable at 29 € per TB per month. See the full plan comparison.

Frequently asked questions about Play for post-production

Does Play replace my editing tool?

No. You edit wherever you always have; Play orders what sits around it: the feedback, the versions, the material and the deliveries.

Does it integrate with my editor?

Not natively yet. Integrations, the API and MCP support are in development, so today material is uploaded to and downloaded from the workspace. If your workflow depends on a panel inside the editor, it is worth knowing up front.

How do I avoid the iteration lost to vague feedback?

With comments anchored to the second and to the version. The client marks the exact frame, so there is no more interpreting what they meant by the pacing not working.

How do I know which version was approved?

The version history marks which one received sign-off, with author and date. It is what stops you tweaking the wrong cut and losing an afternoon.

Does the client need an account to review?

No. Review links let them comment without an account, and they expire when they should. And if you would rather bring them into the workspace, external collaborators are unlimited.

How much material can I store?

250 GB on the free plan and 1 TB on PRO, with additional storage at 29 € per TB per month. In post it is worth assuming a couple of projects will fill the free plan.
