Play is not a creator marketplace: it is the 90 Seconds alternative with a vetted network and a system of your own

Play's platform does not exist only for ordering videos from us. It manages everything your brand produces, whether we make it, your agency does, or your in-house team does.

LITE plan free forever, even if you never commission a single piece from us.

The short version: Play vs 90 Seconds

90 Seconds is a video creation platform with an enormous creator network: more than 14,000 verified professionals in more than 110 countries, with self-serve, enterprise platform and agency service models. Play combines platform and production with a smaller, vetted network — more than 1,200 professionals in more than 20 countries — and with one underlying difference: Play Platform works on its own, free, to manage all of your production, whether or not you commission pieces from PLAY /Services.

90 Seconds is better if…

You need to shoot in many countries at once, particularly outside Europe, and what you value above all is the breadth of the network and how fast you can find a creator in any city.

Play is better if…

You want a system of your own for all your production, real cost per piece, and a vetted crew coordinated by an Account Manager rather than a different creator every time.

Comparison: Play against 90 Seconds

This is the closest-run comparison of them all, because both sell platform and production. It is worth looking at where each one wins.

What 90 Seconds is and what Play is

What 90 Seconds is

90 Seconds is a video creation platform connecting brands with a global network of verified creators: more than 14,000 professionals in more than 110 countries, with more than 50,000 videos delivered. It works through three models: self-serve, where you pick the product and pay by card; an enterprise platform, acting as a video operations centre; and an agency service with in-house teams and AI-assisted workflows. It publishes no prices.

What Play is

Play is a Production-Tech company. It combines three pieces in one flow: Play Platform, the software where production is planned, managed, approved and optimised; PLAY /Services, the creative, production and post-production team that makes the content; and KAMI AI, the assistant that structures briefs, organises projects and tags footage. Play comes out of having run more than 10,000 video projects, so the platform reflects how a production actually works.

Why they are not the same category

A DAM only stores. A project tracker only organises tasks. Review software only covers one stage. And a traditional production service hands you the video but gives you no platform and no control. Play is the only option that puts platform, services and AI in a single flow, from brief to publication. 90 Seconds is conceptually the closest competitor, because it also joins platform and network. The difference is what each platform is for, and how each network is assembled.

The four differences teams notice most

We start with the one that does not favour us, because it is the first thing anyone will check.

They have more network. We pick ours one by one

More than 14,000 creators in more than 110 countries is a figure Play does not have and does not aim to have: our network is more than 1,200 professionals in more than 20 countries. The difference is deliberate. PLAY Talent is not a marketplace: every profile goes through a selection process, and a production's crew is assembled by an Account Manager, not by automatic matching.

Fewer profiles available, and a crew chosen for that particular shoot.

Their platform is for ordering videos from them. Ours is for managing yours

Play Platform works on its own on the free plan: you can use it with your in-house team, your agency and your usual suppliers without commissioning a single piece from us. It is a production system, not an order channel, and that is why it includes briefing, tasks, calendar, review and cost.

One system for all the brand's content, whoever shoots it.

The money is managed inside, not only invoiced

Play includes the rate card, budgets, expenses and purchase orders inside the same project where the video is reviewed, and cost and account-health analytics from the PRO plan. That is what lets you compare average cost per piece across campaigns and markets.

Real cost per piece and per campaign, not only an invoice per delivered video.

One point of contact from start to finish

In Play every project has an Account Manager who coordinates crews, reviews quality and keeps brand consistency, working inside the same platform where you see status and cost. With a very large network, continuity between projects depends on the model you buy.

The same person knows the brand on project one and on project fifteen.

When to choose 90 Seconds and when to choose Play

This is the closest-run comparison of them all, so it is worth being specific.

Choose 90 Seconds if

  • You need to shoot in many countries at once, particularly outside Europe.
  • The breadth of the network is your main criterion.
  • You want to be able to order a video self-serve and pay by card.
  • You want matching speed over crew continuity.
  • You do not need to manage production done by your other suppliers.

Choose Play if

  • You want a system of your own for all your production, not only what you commission from us.
  • You prefer a vetted network and a crew assembled for each shoot.
  • You need real cost per piece inside the tool.
  • You want one Account Manager from start to finish.
  • You want to start free, ordering no videos at all.

What Play costs against 90 Seconds

90 Seconds publishes no prices and they vary by the model you buy. Play publishes its platform prices and quotes production per project.

If you produce with us, the platform costs you nothing

Access to Play Platform is included at no cost with every PLAY video production service. And the other way round: you can use the platform free on its LITE plan without commissioning a single piece, which is the main difference from a platform that exists to process orders.

To be straight about it: if your problem is pure geographic coverage, 90 Seconds has a network ten times the size of ours across more than five times as many countries, and for a simultaneous campaign in many markets that counts for a lot. Play is the option when what you need is a system of your own, crew continuity and cost comparable between pieces. Meet PLAY Talent.

How to try Play without dropping what you already use

Migration is especially easy here, because Play's entry point costs nothing.

  1. Open a LITE workspace and try it at no cost

The LITE plan is free, allows 3 internal users, unlimited external collaborators and 250 GB. Commissioning nothing.

  2. Upload the material already delivered

The pieces and rushes you are entitled to keep move into your library, tagged and searchable. The archive starts accumulating from day one.

  3. Put what your agency produces inside it too

This is the real test of the difference: Play's platform is there to manage production that is not ours.

  4. Commission one piece from PLAY /Services in parallel

A fixed quote and a transparent rate card, with a single Account Manager. Same need, two suppliers, and the comparison gets made on data.

  5. Switch on budgets and cost control

From then on you can compare average cost per piece between suppliers, which is the information neither platform gives you by default.

Frequently asked questions about Play as a 90 Seconds alternative

Is Play an alternative to 90 Seconds?

Yes, and it is the closest competitor on the list: both combine a platform and a creator network. Play has a smaller, vetted network, and a platform that works on its own, free, to manage all of a brand's production even if it never commissions a piece from us.

Who has the larger network?

90 Seconds, by a wide margin: it publishes more than 14,000 verified creators in more than 110 countries. PLAY Talent's network is more than 1,200 professionals in more than 20 countries. If your main criterion is geographic coverage, they have a clear advantage.

What is the difference between a vetted network and a marketplace?

In PLAY Talent every profile goes through a selection process, and each production's crew is assembled by an Account Manager who knows the project. In a marketplace model the matching is more automatic and faster, in exchange for less crew continuity between projects.

Can I use Play's platform without commissioning videos?

Yes, and that is the underlying difference. The LITE plan is free and is there to manage production done by your in-house team, your agency or your usual suppliers. 90 Seconds' platform is the channel through which videos are ordered from them.

What does each one cost?

90 Seconds publishes no prices and it depends on the model: self-serve by card, an enterprise platform, or an agency service. Play publishes its platform prices: LITE free, PRO 149 € per workspace per month with 5 users included, custom Enterprise. Production is quoted per project on a transparent rate card.

Does Play have self-serve ordering by card?

No. PLAY /Services production is quoted per project, with the scope fixed before starting. If what you want is to order a standard piece in a few clicks, 90 Seconds has that model and Play does not.

Who coordinates the project in Play?

An Account Manager, who is your single point of contact throughout. They coordinate crews, review quality, keep brand consistency and work inside the same platform where you see the status and the cost.

How do I start?

Open a free LITE workspace, upload the material already delivered, put what your agency produces inside it too and, if you want to compare, commission one piece from us in parallel on a fixed quote.
